About the event
A traditional Seiðr (pronounced say-ther) is a magical tradition hailing from Northern Europe centered around trance and spirit work. During this ritual, the völva (a female seeress) will enter a trance state empowered by plant allies and vardlokkur (spirit songs) in order to engage in spirit contact. Participants will each be able to approach the völva to ask questions of the spirits or to see what messages come through. It is recommended to come with questions prepared in advance. Participation is not required, simply observing is welcomed! Please bring a journal and pen, sacred talismans to charge at the altar, as well as any objects for Emily to channel into. Disclaimer: This is a spiritual and intuitive service. It is not a replacement for therapy or any other medical services. Results and answers will vary.
Emily Lilly is an artist and a practicing seiðkona. Growing up on a farm in New Hampshire, Emily has spent their entire life interacting with the spirit realm. They began their study of magic at age 15 and devoted themselves to the path of their ancestors at age 18. They have been studying and practicing seiðr for three years through lived experience and rigorous academic study. Day-to-day, Emily can be found in their studio creating ritually-crafted artwork from ethically sourced animal remains for their business ULVWITCH.
